Intro. . .

Well Hello!

Just a few quick words before we are off and running...

Coming into mid-life brings challenges as well as some fun times. For example:
  • the extra emotions
  • the beginning pangs of arthritis
  • finding your inner wine-o
  • letting loose your inner child.
I'm trying to enjoy it all: the good and the bad, the uphill and the downhill. Sometimes I'm happy, sometimes I'm an emotional train-wreck. Gotta love them hormones! Don't know if I should laugh or cry over the childishly scrawled addition to the grocery list: "booze for mommy". Good one kids. Good one.

You should also know that this is a pretty laid back kind of place. Everyone needs to be nice, except me. I'm usually a nice person, easy to get along with. But when I've been crossed or see something that really bothers me, be warned, it's going to get bumpy!

I'm imagining that you're fairly normal, too. And by 'normal' I simply mean: that you're just like me. Okay, maybe not just like me, but like me in that you are most likely a female (if you happen to be a "guy", that's okay too), you like to vent about your significant other (or your 'ex') - and your children if you have any, you are noticing the silver hairs, the crows feet and turkey neck (since when did we become so bird-like?).

A little more about me:
  • I'm naturally sarcastic (I have 4 kids; it's a defense mechanism)
  • I love to read
  • I love to write
  • I love history and researching - particularly genealogy
  • I enjoy people watching
  • I like talking about any of the above
  • I'm a working mother of four so the house is ALWAYS a mess
  • If you ask me what I'm doing on any given weekend, my answer is typically: Laundry.
So kick off your shoes, make yourself at home. We'll have coffee (or wine) momentarily. I'm so glad you came!
